Visit WebsiteThriveworks has great administration, and it was incredibly easy to make an appointment with no wait time. However, that's where the good experience ended. Our therapist was nice but completely ineffective. My husband and I went for couples counseling around whether we should have kids, and besides having us just do a pro/con list during session time (which is a waste of my money), she also said things like "you'll be such a great mom" which I found to be inconsiderate considering the reason I was there is because I'm not sure I want that. She also thought it was appropriate to tell us about her own life and experience with her kid rather than having us talk. All in the sessions were akin to talking to a relative pressuring us to have kids, but I paid for the experience instead (intro session and one actual session). The second session was so bad that my husband was passing me notes asking if we could end it early. I'm baffled why they thought this woman would be a good fit for us. She also took another client's call during our time, which is inappropriate, and I passed that information on to Thriveworks. Finally, we went to one of the DC offices for our visit in person, and when I went to get tap water, it was black. Not brown, black. Absolutely disgusting. I really wanted to like Thriveworks for its ease and affordability, but I wanted actual therapy. Edited to add: Yes, I will reach out via email, but you and anyone reading this should know I have already reported this information via text and did not receive a response.
Jaclyn WalkinsI had a great experience until I met with the provider name Kate today and my experience was not the best. She literally hung up on me less then 10 mins into the session. I would not recommend this particular provider ever. Kate is a psychiatrist with thrive please avoid. Sandra was amazing shes a psychologist because of her I will continue with thrive and find a new psychiatrist.
Kiara MatthewsI had the pleasure to have Alexis Harris as my supervisor for the last couple of years. She is a phenomenal clinician! She is an empathetic and thoughtful listener. She always emphasized the client-centered care and helped people discovering their strengths in life. Her attentiveness and professionalism are noticeable.

Lolo WThe therapists here truly create change for their patients and do so through a fantastic experience. It is clear the practice is concerned about their patients, but beyond that their staff and local students studying/preparing for their PhD as well. Visit WebsiteTherapy with Dr Corl was a distressing experience. It hurt the most when I reached out for support & understanding, but he didn't provide either, though I think he would be great at telling you why you chose to wear a certain color of shirt.
T JonesDr. Corl was judgmental & when I suggested how he could be more helpful, he brushed it off. His lack of awareness was harmful & humiliating. My concerns were too basic to be handled in such an unskilled way. He also removed his Master's in Pastoral Counseling degree from Liberty University from his bio. Wouldn't it be more ethical to have an honest talk about your qualifications? I imagine an authentic conversation could actually be therapeutic!
J DAs a therapist myself, Rock Creek Therapy is a top referral source for me. Charlotte is incredibly responsive, and she and all the therapists there are an intelligent, compassionate, warm, responsible, highly dedicated crew. Over the years I've been able to see how deeply they care about providing the highest quality services.
